Doing the snow dance...

O.K.  So it really is cold now.     Will we get snow tonight??  Will we?   They said that it has been since 2003 since we have gotten any snow worth talking about.    Griffin was not even a year old.    He is 4 now and he really has not gotten to experience snow.   Camille was all of 4 and she says she remembers it well.   She is a snow expert.

So Camille's teacher tells the class that they needed to do the snow dance tonight.  They had to put their PJ's on inside out and do a dance.     Brian went two step farther and told them that they had to do the dance in their underwear ... outside!!!     So they strip down in the underwear and run outside in the bitter cold and they did the snow dance.    So now  it will snow.    So tomorrow when you wake up in the morning  and see snow covering the ground you can thank my two kids.

Sadie doesn't have to worry about the cold.    She has the greatest coat although she is due for a hair cut.     If you come into the Boutique  you can meet the greatest dog in the world!

She is one big stuffed Labradoodle.    She is as sweet as she looks.    She loves meeting new people but I am trying to train her to say hello to people when they come in but then she has to leave them alone.    She does well with this most of the time and if she doesn't want to leave a person alone it is because they are hugging on her.       She makes a great foot warmer at my desk.

So here is wishing for some snow tonight!!!    Go out there and do the snow dance!!

Back to work

I have been under the weather the last few days so I have had to stay home to rest.  And rest I did.  Now I have to get back to work.    I am working on adding new note cards to the site.

We are known for having  thank you cards for babies, and new moms,  hence the name "Little" Fingers, "Little " Toes but in the store we also have a lot of designs for Adults.   So I am going to put all of these online to add to our baby line.

This is a small sample of some of our note cards for everyone.  I also have notepads that I want to get online soon too.

We have party invitations for everyone too.  Not just for kids.  Someone came in the other day needing a 50th birthday invitation.   They were have big party and wanted a beer mug on the invitation.      I asked Anna if she wanted to draw a frosted beer mug .    She got to use the computer drawing pen for the first time and she had a blast!    She also did a great job on the beer mug.

So Little Fingers, Little Toes has more to offer than just baby stuff.   And hopefully they will be online for everyone soon.

So back to work I go...

I am an addict

Yes it is true.  I have an addiction.   It started out small but now it is starting to take over my life...

It really started in my 20s but I was able to over come it and I was clean for many years.   But over the last few months I had another taste and I am hooked again.     Then it got to the point that I didn't care anymore if someone saw me and I would do  it at Camille's dance class and sometimes while waiting in the car line waiting to pick Camille up from school.   It has gotten so bad I have been seen doing it at parties.  Hiding in the corner, seeing if anyone is looking and pulling out my knitting needles.    After that I was told I was not allowed to bring my knitting needles to anymore parties.

I used my addiction as an excuse to make everyone's Christmas gift this year.    It wasn't that I wanted to make something great for my friends and Family at Christmas, I just needed to knit.  ;)

I only have Meredith to blame.  Her store, The Knaughty Knitter is just down the street from me.  I tell everyone that I need to get some fresh air and I run to her store just to look at all the yarn and see what new creations I can knit.  I have even joined the knit along KAL so I can feed my addiction with other addicts.

Now I want others to be hooked with me .   I have been taking my friends to the knaughty Knitter in hopes that they too will become an addict.

I just finished my latest fix.    A purse for my good friend that turn the big 40 this weekend.

I had a great time knitting this purse.  Maybe I could sell them to help me pay my yarn bills??

So yes I have an addiction.  A knitting addiction.   I am not ready to go KA Knitters Anonymous I want to wallow in my yarn stash as long as I can.    So please come by or order online  from Little Fingers, Little Toes before I start going through withdraws.

It's cold again... Nice!

Anyone that knows me knows how much I love spring.  Love Love Love it!    I start thinking about my gardens about now and I love going into Wal-mart and looking at seeds and smelling the dirt.

But what is up with this Spring in January stuff???  Even I think it is just WRONG!   I am walking around and seeing the daffodils blooming and the Forsythia bushes are blooming and it is January.  Not the end of January but the beginning.    So what are we going to have left to bloom in March?   I don't think a bush or flower will bloom twice in one year.   How sad.

So now it is cold again.  Normally I hate the cold but this time I am so glad.   Not to mention I can finally wear the cool gloves that my good friend Dianne knitted for me for Christmas!!!  But it is going to have to stay cold in order for the plants to understand that it is winter.   Now with my luck it will stay cold all the way through March.

So since it is so cold I feel like giving something away.     How about a pair of Baby Legs??

So email me  and be the 10th person and I will send you a pair of  Baby Legs to keep your tot's legs warm.     Be sure to put Baby Legs in the subject line.

Writing those thank you notes!!

Now that all the Christmas craziness is over it is time to think about writing thank you notes to all the people that thought of you over the Holiday.

I saw on one of the daytime shows ( maybe The View?) that one of the new trends of 2007 is having personalized stationery and sending a short note through the mail instead of email.  Email is so 2006!

So I made Camille her own personalized notepad (we will be adding these to the website soon) And we sat down and wrote a thank you note to all the people that she did not get to thank in person for the gifts she received.    If you sent us presents in the mail you will get your thank you card soon.  She actually had a great time doing it.  She loved writing on her own notepad and then she drew a little picture.     She is learning to write and spell so this was a very good activity for her.

Now do I send thank you notes like I should??  Well the person that owns a stationery company should have a ton of her own stationery and write notes all the time right??   What is that saying about the carpenter never having anything in their house complete??  Well it goes that way with the stationery owner.    I don't write thank you notes like I should.   Sorry to all of you that I should have sent thank you cards too in the past.

Maybe I should not admit to this out loud but one of the reasons I don't send out thank you notes other than the lack of time is because I still don't have my own thank you notes.  Why you may ask??  Well because I haven't decided on which cards I want for myself.  How nuts is that??    So this year one of my starting the New Year off right resolutions is making my very own thank you notes.   Because mine have to be the best!  LOL
