Some color to brighten the day.

Wanted to share some photos I took in my yard before the last of the leaves fell and turned brown.

Everything was so colorful and red...  now everything is pretty much dead and brown...

Happy Thanksgiving!

So what are we thankful for?  I am so grateful for so much.  Even though things are not the greatest right now it sure could be worse.  So I am grateful for my kids, my very helpful/supportive family, the roof over my head and what the future holds.

As most of you know the kids and I will be moving soon.   Moving to a new town and the kids will be going to a new school.   Big adjustment for all of us.    I am having to down size a great deal.  This can be good but also very hard.

We are moving in with my Aunt and we have started getting the rooms together for me and the kids.  They  have bunk beds so they are both pretty happy..

Like I said they are pretty excited.

Newroom2

This house has the greatest windows.   I love Windows.

Mynewroom

I am loving my new room.   I can't wait to get my "stuff" in there.

I have been working on some new projects.    So take a  look and tell me what you think.

Photopainting1

Photopainting2

This is the first one that I did.    I am putting my photos on a thick 5x7 canvas.   I put some texture around the edges but I am not sure if I like it or not.

Photopainting3

This is the second one.  I haven't adding anything on the sides except a coat of paint.   I am still thinking about it.

So what ya think?

Well I hope that everyone is stuffed full of turkey and have many things to be thankful for.

Our Trip to Atlanta

We went to Atlanta for the weekend.   My Aunt and I and the kids went to Atlanta to meet up with my cousin Shannon and her son Ryan.  We also met my other cousin and Aunt and Uncle (mother's side) at the Aquarium.     It was a family affair!!

Friday night the kids were just down right crazy!  Been in the car too long and were so excited.  It took everything we had to get them all to bed.    But Saturday we made sure they were all very tired so there was no problem getting them to go to sleep Saturday night.

We went to the Georgia Aquarium Saturday morning.   What a great aquarium!  I have been to a few aquariums and I like this one the best so far.

I think the kids loved all of it  but my favorite was the Beluga Whales.

I could have stayed and watched them all day.   They each had their own personality and they seem to come by and say hi to each of us.

Griffin liked them too.  He actually stayed in one place longer than a minute.

We met Paula, Ed, Tracy, Barry, Luke and Melody at the Aquarium.    We haven't seen them in so long so this was such a great treat.

Hi Melody!  It is so nice to finally meet you!!

Terry, Shannon and I got to go to Ikea.   What fun that is.  And the kids go to play and had babysitters while we shopped.

Camille and Griffin got new bedroom suits for their new bedroom.

Highmuseum1

I went to college in Atlanta.    I spent 4 years at The Atlanta College of Art.  ( left about 17 years ago) It was located above the Woodruff Arts Center.    I lived in a dorm right behind the High Museum of Art.

Highmuseum2

This was where the dorm used to be.   Many parties happen in that spot...

Then I found out that just last year The Atlanta College of Art was taken over by the Savannah College of Art.    They rebuilt the dorms close by where they used to be and I bet they are much nicer than the rooms we  lived in.    The last time I  came by the school about 8 years ago  everything looked pretty much the same.   It was strange to see how different it has become.

Zoo3sm

Sunday we went to the Zoo.  Griffin loved brushing the pig.

Camille the gorilla.

We had a great time.  Having fun is something we all needed!

To see the rest of the pictures go here.

I have a really cool project that I have been working on and I am hoping I can show pictures tomorrow.

What I have been doing....

O.K. so where in the world did November go?   I mean thanksgiving is next week!  How did that happen??     I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would post a little about the things I have been doing.

I am sad to announce that I am not taking any orders at LFLT until further notice.    Big changes are happening and as sad as I am it has to be done.

Knitpursesm_2

I did finish a cool purse that I knitted a while ago.  I never use patterns when I make a purse so I don't always know what it will end up looking like.   This one turned out a little wide but I really like it now.  It is a small clasp purse with a long strap.

Pursebuttonsm

Added this very cool button...  It is a Tagua nut button.  How cool is that?

Pursebutton2sm

It stays closed with magnet snaps.

Knithatsm

Reknitted the hat that I messed up so badly the first time I did it... This is a quick knit.

Dollheadsm

Remember that part of the plant from Alcatraz that just happen to find my pocket?    Well just look how happy it is in my cute little doll head planter.

Dollhead2sm

Just look how happy it is.    And if you think the doll head is cute you can get yours from here.  Plants on the brain at etsy.

Smalltreerootsm

This is a root I found on the beach in California.  Looks like a tree.   Just a few things I have on my kitchen window sill

Leaveinrust2sm

Fall is here.   The leaves have surprised us all and have turned into some beautiful colors.   The yellows are just amazing!

Asunsetsm

I will end this post with another sunset...   This was the night before all the bad storms came through.   I wish I had my camera when it was at is brightest.   But it still turned out nice.

Happy Thanksgiving.   I still can't believe that it is next week...
